For those of you who have followed me for a while, you’re probably wondering… Where’d she go?! Where are our weekday dishes and news filled blog updates?!
For those of you who are new to my network… You’re probably like WAIT, I thought this was about politics…? Not renovating kitchens??
Long story short, I am getting on here today to give you guys a little life update and let you know I am getting BACK TO BASICS starting now.
So recently, I started doing some consulting for a bunch of different types of clients… Mostly just because people were asking me to! Sure, I’ll help with your social media! Sure, I’ll help throw an event! Sure, I’ll help build your resume/ apply to that capitol hill job! But there’s only so many things you can do for free before your schedule gets INSANE. So instead of dedicating myself to one group, as I was planning to do, I am just now starting to offer consulting services on the side… Really, for ANYTHING people want my help with. I’m starting to get back to styling/ wardrobe consulting (cuz hey, I LOVE it), I am tag teaming events, representing brands, and building custom websites for a bunch of different types of clients. Not all are politically related though most are.
ANYHOO, if you watch my story, you also know this reno is LYFE right now! The biggest annoyance has definitely been the food situation. While I really miss the creativity of cooking, I miss eating a HOT, HEALTHY meal WAY more… We got PF Chang’s the other night and of course got an order of lettuce wraps. Deven looked over at me and I was mindlessly DOWNING the lettuce.. PLAIN. I just miss healthy foods, it’s really tough to keep fresh produce around when you only have a mini-fridge and need to stock it with other stuff. #firstworldprobs I know, but we have eaten so much pre-packaged, dry foods I could scream! Or heavy restaurant food. It’s tough to balance without being able to cook. But not much longer y’all!
On top of those two things, I am also about to launch into study mode for the foreseeable future. Starting with a “diversity & inclusion” training in Baltimore later this month, the DAY AFTER I get back from that, I start my LSAT prep course and ALLLLL my Saturdays will be spent driving to Norman, locking myself in a classroom, and LEARNING as much as I can. If you haven’t read THIS blog post, I am looking to go to law school so that I can better understand the laws affecting Oklahomans (and Americans generally) in a negative way, be better at communicating those laws to my readers, so that I can more effectively manage my business, and maybe even be prepared to be a lawmaker myself one day. I am potentially looking to go for a joint degree with some business training as I REALLY could use some. I have never taken a single business course and now I am a business owner?! I could use some formal training, that’s for sure!
And just to throw a little wrench in things, I managed to LOSE my license a few weeks ago which caused me to have to DRIVE TO TEXAS to replace it, the day before my first ever event for my blog. Luckily, all’s well that ends well BUT it was a crazy 72 hrs with lots of sporadic stress crying and time spent at DMVs.
To sum it all up, I’ve been a little crazy busy. And with my birthday this week, Valentines Day & Lent starting next week (I am Catholic in case you didn’t know!), then us leaving for NYC right after that… It’s not scheduled to get less crazy anytime soon. But I am schedule to hunker down and #takecareofbusiness aka – not abandon you guys to fend for yourself in these tense political times.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT for more blog posts coming at ya this week!
